We’re Live! Welcome to our new website!
Keep checking back…we’re adding information weekly!

Tucked away on a tree-laden lot offering a shaded playground retreat-like in its tranquility,
Butterfly Christian Preschool is a ministry of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church
located on Bee Cave Road in Westlake Hills,
licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) and
accredited by the Evangelical Lutheran Church Education Association.

Our mission statement reads as follows:

Dedicated to providing a Christian Learning Environment that nurtures and supports children and their families.

Butterfly Christian Preschool offers both place and space for children to engage the world with their natural inquisitiveness and propensity for learning. Through an atmosphere of respect for the unique nature of each developmental stage, teachers create interest laden environments in every classroom and educational situation. A child’s competency blooms in this kind of setting!

Each one of our classrooms offers a varied range of experiences which allow for working alone or as part of a group, indoor and outdoor activities, active and quiet moments, along with listening and talking opportunities. High quality teaching, loving interaction, emergent play based and process approach learning fosters a child’s natural curiosity, self-esteem, acceptance, and compassion thereby promoting individual growth to its highest potential.

Butterfly Christian Preschool also seeks to foster a warm and wonderful relationship with God and God’s creation. We do this by teaching about God’s heart of love for all people, using bible stories and everyday life situations in weekly chapel and class.

Butterfly Christian Preschool is a ministry of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. As a church ministry, we observe Christian celebrations, embrace religious symbols, and share Bible stories to communicate God’s love for the world. Shepherd of the Hills warmly welcomes you to worship or any other activity we offer.
