Music and worship arts at Shepherd of the Hills are filled with great variety and meaning. We love robust organ hymnody as well as guitars and drums! You’ll often hear both in worship, as we lift up multiple styles of music and liturgy to worship God each week.
CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP TEAM
Music is the language of the Spirit! Whether you’re a vocalist, an instrumentalist, or both, come join us in praising God as a part of our Contemporary Worship Team. Take a moment and fill out the interest form – it’s an amazing thing to pluck a string or sing a note in the service of the Lord! Contact Contemporary Worship Leader Justin Stephens if you have questions.
CHOIR & BELLS
Our Adult Choir and Bell Choir praise God in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs on a rotating schedule between 8:15am and 10:45am Sunday worship services.
We have outstanding musicians join us for worship, both from within and without our congregation. Austin Symphony section leaders, guitar players, jazz musicians, vocal soloists, multi-talented string and guitar players, flutists and more join in. In non-COVID times, we feature larger string and brass ensembles, including the UT Trombone Choir.
Our AV team includes staff along with both Youth and Adult volunteers. There is a lot of talent here, but there is also room for more folks, too! We hold services in the sanctuary, gym, and outdoors in the Courtyard, and these folks make sure we all sound and look our best in every venue.
We have several in-house artists who breathe a new and unique spirit into banners and other seasonal art that enriches the worship experience.
