FOR THOSE FACING HARD TIMES
For those in our community who are facing hard times or need a space to love and connect, come grow in the compassionate love of God
You are not alone! Parents and family members (over the age of 18) of loved ones who struggle with addiction are invited to participate in the PAL support group to receive hope, through education and an opportunity to share and learn from others facing the same challenges. The meetings are held on Monday evenings from 7 to 8:30 PM in the library at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran.
For more information about this group and others in the surrounding Austin area and other cities, visit the website, www.palgroup.org You are not alone!
Cancer Support Group

This peer-to-peer group meets once per month on the fourth Tuesday for anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis – individuals with cancer, their family members, or supportive others. See the calendar for dates, times, and contact information.
Stephen Ministry is lay ministry, caring for people within our congregation and beyond our walls. Stephen Ministers are not counselors or therapists; rather, they are caring Christians who are trained and supervised to offer a listening ear and steady support to those who need to be assured of God’s love during the tough times in life, that may involve illness, death, divorce, loneliness, job loss or difficult relationships, to name a few. At times like these, life can be overwhelming. It helps to have someone walk with you, someone who will listen over and over again. Someone who will encourage you when you can’t see a better tomorrow. Family and friends have their own roles to play; a Stephen Minister’s only focus is caring for you, for as long as you need us. There is no shame in needing help. Why not make use of this confidential, caring ministry!
Our Nurse provides a wonderful resource of care and health & wellness support to our congregation and community. She is available for questions about health care issues, and she assists the pastoral staff in caring for those who are in need through phone calls and visitation.
