CARE MINISTRIES

FOR THOSE FACING HARD TIMES

For those in our community who are facing hard times or need a space to love and connect, come grow in the compassionate love of God.

CARE MINISTRIES

GRIEF Support Group

The Shepherd of the Hills Care Team and Stephen Ministers invite you to gather for lunch (typically on the second Sunday of each month) to meet and share with others who are experiencing grief. See the calendar for upcoming dates, or contact us today.

While caregiving is a gesture of love, it also brings many challenging moments. The fellowship of other caregivers acknowledging those challenges and joys, but also sharing practical tips from experiences, can be both helpful and supportive. Join us on the third Thursday of each month. See the calendar for upcoming dates, or contact us today.

PALS

Family members (over the age of 18) of loved ones who struggle with addiction are invited to receive hope through education and an opportunity to share and learn from others facing the same challenges. PALS meetings are held on Monday evenings from 7 to 8:30pm and on Zoom. For a Zoom link or more information about groups in Austin and other cities, visit the website, www.palgroup.org.

If you are not ready to join us a meeting, please take advantage of the resources provided here or reach out for personal support from a trained Stephen Minister, a free and confidential ministry. Above all, know that you are not alone!

RESOURCES

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is a confidential, one on one ministry caring for people within our congregation and beyond our walls. Stephen Ministers are not counselors or therapists; rather, they are caring Christians who are trained and supervised to offer a listening ear and steady support to those who need to be assured of God’s love during the tough times in life that may involve illness, death, divorce, loneliness, job loss, or difficult relationships, to name a few. A Stephen Minister’s only focus is caring for you, for as long as you need us. Please reach out when you are ready.

∙ Men are matched with men; women with women.
∙ You will meet as often as needed, for as long as needed.

What training do Stephen Ministers receive? Expand
