KIDS + YOUTH
We can’t wait to welcome your children into our community of faith! At Shepherd of the Hills, you’ll watch your kids grow and learn about the Bible with the perfect mix of learning and play!
SUNDAY'sCOOL is our faith formation for toddlers and kids thru Grade 4. We are currently on break for summer, but come join your friends upstairs in the Family Ministry Center beginning Sunday, September 17 at 9:40am for stories, exploration stations, and more. Register your child here!
CHILDREN IN WORSHIP
We welcome children in worship - wiggles, giggles, tears, and all. We have a pray-ground with soft toys and activity tables, worship boxes for kids ready to participate, and a designated Family Room, in case you just need a moment alone!
Teens and Preteens thrive at Shepherd of the Hills! We deeply value the importance of faith formation and the gift of Christian community for young people. Join us to build lasting friendships and to learn how you are uniquely created and loved by God.
Our Confirmation Ministry for grades 5-8 gathers on Sunday nights for games, teaching, and discussion. We emphasize play, but we also focus on stories of God's love found in scripture, teaching Lutheran theology of grace in Christ, and what it all means for us today."
NEXTGEN HIGH SCHOOL
Grades 9-12 gather, laugh, and just have fun while we grow our Biblical literacy and interpret the Bible through the lens of our Lutheran theology.
The journey of faith includes special markers & moments along the way that reflect our growth in faith and community.
Jesus welcomes us into the family of faith through baptism, and we rejoice to celebrate this sacrament, or holy ritual of God’s grace, with babies and adults alike! Baptisms take place on Sunday mornings during worship, with the family of faith at Shepherd of the Hills surrounding the baptized in loving prayer and promises.
We offer a Holy Communion Retreat each spring that is geared toward 3rd & 4th graders, whether or not they are currently receiving Holy Communion. During the Retreat, students learn more about this sacrament and engage in fun activities to commemorate this milestone in faith. We celebrate these students during a special worship service at the conclusion of the Retreat.
At the end of their 8th grade year, NextGen students are confirmed in the faith. This means that they say “Yes!” to God’s “Yes!” that was spoken to them in their baptism. They live out their baptism in a new way and are loved, prayed for, and encouraged by the church community. Confirmation Day is a joyful celebration at Shepherd of the Hills!
